Fixed my son’s laptop, while I waited, at 5:30pm. What a lifesaver! Price was good too. Highly recommend!

Service was exceptional. Halil Kilic is very honest. The battery of my comupter kept draining too fast. Halil tested it and said I only needed a new battery not a new computer. He installed a new battery the same day and called to let me know when he was finished. I highly recommend Davis Sq Tech Repair without reservations. Thank you Halil.

Halil’s shop is truly a godsend and he himself is such a professional. He has helped me with my iPad, broken iPhones and with those same fragile items that belong to my children and co-workers. If you need prompt and honest help, don’t hesitate.

I am extremely disappointed in the service they provided. I came here because I had a broken loose screen on my phone which should be replaced. The repair itself went as promised within the given timeframe, but when I picked up my phone, the phone was working extremely slow with multiple lags and the screen wouldn't even open at some time. I noticed it immediately and said it was an issue, the feedback on that was, it must be an update coming up and that's the issue. It was also mentioned that my battery is performing low and it might impact it, I was on the verge of getting it replaced but they didn't have the battery on stock which my phone needed. Ok, so I waited, made an update and the issue still persists. I came back on another occasion 2 weeks later to address the issue again, since my phone was working perfectly with my old screen it just had a very visible pixel line where the screen broke, so I made the decision to change it. At that point the owner told me again that my battery was the issue and that his installed screen is working and that there is nothing he can do for me. Needless to say that months later my phone is still not fixed, and I am regretting choosing this service and replacing my screen. In my opinion I should have been made aware that the change could impact my phone in that way and from costumer service perspective, if this is indeed a single battery replacement issue, a complimentary battery switch should have been offered at least. It wasn't, and I still have to live with an extremely lagging phone and probably get a new one because of a very common repair gone wrong.

I reached out to Davis Tech Repair with a request to repair my Macbook's battery. Halil replaced my battery in a day. He was very thorough and cleaned my laptop's screen and internal components while working on the battery as well- all for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend working with Halil and will return for any future tech repairs!

I brought my iPhone 16 Pro here after cracking the screen specifically because I wanted the phone repaired before moisture could get inside. They installed an aftermarket screen, and only a few months later, ordinary rain exposure caused visible condensation inside the front camera and triggered a false high-temperature warning even though the phone was not hot. A properly repaired phone WOULD NOT develop internal condensation simply from being carried in a pocket during the rain. The entire reason I paid for the screen replacement was to prevent exactly this kind of damage. Based on what happened, I have no confidence that the phone was properly resealed after the repair. Now I may be facing serious internal damage, corrosion, data loss, and the cost of replacing a nearly new phone because of workmanship I trusted this shop to perform correctly. I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND going somewhere else for phone repairs, especially for any job that requires the device to be opened and resealed. Saving money on the initial repair is not worth it when poor workmanship can leave you with a much more expensive problem later.

May 2026 edit: Popped in today to have the charging port on my Pixel looked at. 30 minutes later it was fixed and working perfectly, for a very reasonable price. Original review: Brought in a faulty Google Pixel 8. The chap performed extensive external diagnostics at no charge and ultimately advised me that a new device was the sensible path forward. Clearly extremely knowledgable and willing to take time to figure out the problem before taking action. Price quoted here for an OEM battery replacement was half what I was quoted by UBreakiFix in Cambridge/Boston. Highly recommended.

Agree with the other reviews. The owner was nice on the phone about our broken iPad. Went to the shop. He tested it out and found out the motherboard was fried and recommended we get a refurbished one somewhere instead of fixing because fixing would cost a lot more. He didn't try to upsell me and was super professional. Will definitely go back if I run into a similar problem in the future. (Hopefully not though!)

Halil is the best! He involves you in the process, explains everything really well, and he truly wants to solve your problem. Most places will quote you hundreds to replace this or that not knowing if it’ll solve the actual problem. Halil is honest and will lay out all your options. Halil is now my “I know a guy” when it comes to tech repair and I’ll be recommending him every chance I get. Great experience. I highly recommend anyone go here for any of their tech repair needs.

I never write reviews, but this guy is awesome! I’ve been in a couple times over the years. Very quick turnaround, excellent pricing, and he often throws stuff in for free. He has even given me good advice which led to me spending less money. And he’s great at explaining what he’s doing and why. This is the guy you want!

Halil should be called the Tech Surgeon: clean assessments, accurate diagnoses, and precise actions/repair! He also educates the customer on his process. Excellent listener and kind provider. One of the best small businesses in the area! Thank you Halil for your expertise and exquisite customer care!

I had an excellent experience at this store. He fixed my laptop and took the time to explain everything clearly, including the fan, motherboard, and how the fan speeds work. He is extremely knowledgeable, smart, and patient—he really knows what he’s doing. On top of that, he also fixed my child’s tablet and didn’t charge me anything extra for it. That kindness meant a lot to me. Truly a genius and someone you can trust with your devices. I highly recommend this place!

Between my visually impaired mother, feral goat children, and my dogged refusal to treat electronics as single use items- Halil is my bff. Authentic, transparent, honest, efficient, thoughtful. I cannot say enough good things about him and his business.

Over the last several years I have deeply appreciated the thoughtful and courteous help at Davis Tech Repair. This one-man operation is responsive and effective - a huge relief by comparison with the big-box alternatives. The prices are very reasonable, considering how personable and personalized the services are.

For the second time, I’ve gone to Davis Tech Repair for an urgent issue. Both times, Halil made time to see me almost immediately, and he addressed the issues thoroughly. This week he worked past closing time to fix my problems and charged only a nominal fee. It’s clear that what he really likes to do is help people out. He’ll vanquish the dragons wreaking havoc in your machine, but for you, he’ll have nothing but kindness.

I spilled tea in my mousepad and immediately panicked and found this repair shop on Google Maps based off good reviews. I dropped my laptop off at 2 pm and it was done by 3:45, even as a walk in!! Halil was so thorough and cleaned out everything. He then tested the battery health, the keyboard health, and the charging health. He even tested my charger and made recommendations on what to use instead (since my charger was not at the right voltage due to damage). He then showed me an alternative and explained exactly why it was better. He even replaced the little bumpers on the bottom that I had lost, without charge, just because he noticed they were missing! The platform to check the status updates online is well done, and the whole experience was so professional, smooth, and affordable. I will be recommending this shop to any and everyone! Cannot give enough kudos and praise.

Highly recommend! My Lenovo laptop had a hardware problem and it started causing issues with one of the wifi adapters. I had brought it in and got a quick diagnosis and software fix. A more permanent fix for the hardware problem was recommended but not insisted on for the time being, so I opted to wait and save money. Some months later, this became a problem again, so I brought the laptop back and he was able to identify the problem in a few minutes, had the parts in stock that were needed, and everything was fixed in less than a day. Great customer service and fast fixes! The store is open through the evening, which is very convenient.

I came in for Pixel 6 screen repair. Great service and price. I showed up one hour before the appointment and they helped me out! I love their transparency about pricing as you can check how much it will cost to replace a part before coming for an actual check. They spent 2 hours replacing my screen and battery. Compared to other places that I looked up, I spent a bit over half of those places for screen and battery replacement.

Highly recommended! Amazing service, friendly and respectful. Got my Pixel phone fixed (broken screen) in a few days at affordable price. I was given options of replacement screens, and the overall process was smooth. Once repaired, additional tests were run in front of me to confirm all was fully working. Repair was top-notch and I now feel like I have a whole new phone. Will go there again for sure.

They convinced me that I should not give my laptop to local stores again. Gave my laptop for cooling paste change for 60ish dollars and it spiraled into a series of problems that ended with a motherboard change for 1500. He refused all responsibily for the problems.

Got the battery to my macbook replaced so quick, easy and great communication. I see no reason to go the Apple store, this is much quicker and cheaper if your insurance is past! I recommend and will for sure go back next time I encounter any issues.

So thrilled that these people are in my neighborhood to solve all my tech problems! I brought in 2 broken laptops, and they showed my that they were NOT actually broken. One was totally dead and I thought it needed a new battery. They showed me that the charging port was broken but there was an alternate charging port that I didn't know about. So problem solved! The other laptop had a USB port that didn't work, but I think they just blew the dust out of it and then it was fine! So it took a few minutes and it cost me nothing! Great experience! I remember one time there was a car mechanic who said "I can't fix your windshield wiper and it's $20 for the diagnosis" -- I'm still traumatized by that! There are so many crooks in the world so it's always great to meet people who are who are honest!

I spilled water on my MacBook Air, it had some issues soon after that, rendering it unusable. I brought it into Davis Tech Repair, and he had it ready for me in working condition in about 24 hours. The pricing is very reasonable as well, would highly recommend. Very professional and honest.

I'd give more than 5 stars if I could! His process is oriented around trust. I scheduled the appointment for a battery replacement. He started by showing me the diagnostics of my phone's health so we could confirm that's what was needed. He was also able to tell me that the diagnostics show my phone is healthy enough to last another 4 years! I assumed I'd have to replace soon based on its age, so he really saved me some money! He showed me the cost in advance so I knew before he did the work. He thoroughly cleaned my phone and gave me a better screen protector. The scheduling and communication emails were easy and clear. Overall, he's about doing the right thing which is rare!

Very friendly and honest service! I had broken my phone charger and the charging portion was stuck in my phone’s port. I bought a wireless charger but was able to get the piece removed, so I later exchanged the wireless charger for non-wireless without any problems. Both times, they tested to confirm the chargers worked for my phone before selling it to me, which I appreciated. Thank you!
